From 1941 he worked at the Clinic for Nervous and Mental Diseases in Zagreb, initially as a volunteer, where he specialized in neuropsychiatry and progressed from the title of assistant to head of department and then head of the neurology departments. With his first works, he appears on the pages of Liječnički vjesnik, a journal in which he will publish throughout his career.
